24 to 48 Volt DC Shunt Wound motor by D & D Motor Systems. Shunt Wound motors are also referred to as Sep EX or Separately Excited motors as the field windings are separately excited. These field windings are made of much finer wire than series motors and carry very small currents which makes them very easy to reverse using inexpensive switches. They also offer the ability to do regen braking.

This motor works very well as a boat motor when used with our Alltrax 500 amp Sep EX controller item CT1118. When used in boating applications you should run a reduction of 2 to 3 to one for optimal performance. Most people use a notched tooth belt drive. This motor will work with any of the Alltrax DCX series of controllers.
